Eternal Quote of the Moment

The Greatest Rap Lines of All Time Despite hip-hop being one of the most popular musical genres, it noticeably lacks defenders among the political intelligentsia. Conservatives clearly despise rap music, and even the liberals join them in parent-pleasing indictments of the social degeneration Luda and Em have wrought. Is the establishment is simply afraid of rap, or have they simply never had the pleasure of growing up with Tupac? Undeterred by this puritan opposition, PI unequivocally supports the existence, popularity, quality and artistic value of hip-hop music. Hip-hop, in its brilliance, merges lyrical modernized poetry with beats inspired from nearly every genre of modern music. The rapper thus performs two distinct duties in his songs. First, his voice must function as a musical instrument. Rather than a melodic effect, as in traditional music, the voice acquires a rhythmic quality. It becomes part of the beat of the song. Second, the words afford him creativity. Constrained within few (if any) constraints of poetry, beyond rhyming requirements, rappers creatively discuss and describe every aspect of society. The most talented rappers draw from the most seemingly obscure cultural and musical references and modify inflections and pronunciations to enhance the beat and/or lyrical value. This is PI's subjective and inchoate list of the top rap lines of all time. The rhymes range from facetiously lascivious to brilliantly introspective. To better understand the music, one must understand its talents. Obviously, the citation of well-worded and creatively phrased lines does not necessarily indicate support for the subject matter. Nor does it imply that we have knowledge of or identification with the hip-hop lifestyle, or that we condone any violence and/or sexual promiscuity suggested within the lyrics. This principle should be obvious to anyone who appreciates "Imagine" and yet isn't a hippie socialist. That being said, we enthusiastically support the social value of rap. We have no patience for the present-day Maoists who attempt to legislate their atavistic preferences for a utopian society. Art forms do not need innocuous subject matter to be regarded as art forms. As such, we recognize hip-hop for what it is - and celebrate it in turn. Ambishn - "Class is in session"
It’s been a long time since I’ve been convinced of the element It’s evident these sucka’s fake and speak like the president Acting dominant while the grammar disappoints the whole continent As the accidents continue to get brushed under the rug like the government So I bring more funk than George and the parliament Pssshhhh… Listen! I was born then sworn to be a hip-hop lyricist With acrobatic rhymes that flip like an Olympic gold medallist I get a standing ovation from the entire audience Plus I score a ten from all six panelists Journalists like to call me too explicit… So quick to say that my mind is sick and twisted That’s the s**t! I get from damn near every editor Cause I demolish all competitors like if I was the stalkin predator While you stand there obliviously shocked in enigma Cause I leave verbal lashes on your body like a supernatural stigma It’s funny how a kid after a few gigs can portray like he’s already famous… But the truth is acting like an idiot will only keep you remaining nameless. Yea,…. report abuse

This is how I represent,
I rock the mic one-hundred-ten percent, It's intimate, I keeps the party movin' like an immigrant, Binary star, super star, it's no coincidence, Every verse is intricate, this ain't no circus in a tent, We don't get down like them clowns in the tents, I'm used to be indigent, Who said it's all about the benjamins? I want a fortune, I wanna make music and hit the lottery, Fortunately my music is never watery, That's how it's gotta be as far as I can see, Maybe you should grab a telescope to see our view is like astronomy, It ain't all about economy, So the fact that all these whack MC's is makin G's don't bother me, Honestly, My number one policy is quality, Never sell my soul is my philosophy, High velocity, Lyrics like Nostradamus makin' prophecy, I told you cats a long time ago it ain't no stoppin' me, I bomb yo set that's not a threat, that's a promise, Got everybody ridin' on my wagon like the amish, But still I never claim to be a big rap star, 'Cause no matter who you are, It's still Allah who act god, Better believe this, Most rappers can't achieve this, I'm bad to the bone but x-rays can't even see this, See I'm strategic, I let ya money talk bulls**t, Walk while we keep it rollin' like paraplegics, Whoever's on the microphone, let it be known, You in danger, I got next (necks) like the Boston Strangler, You ain't never heard an emcee speak like this, And Rodney King, ain't ever felt a beat like this -OneBeLo, 1/2 of Binary Star report abuse

As devils search for the secrets to immortality
I alter my physical chemistry Walk through the valley of the shadow of death I exist even when no things are left Vibrations transcend space and time Pure at heart because I deal with the mind That's why I compose these verses Audible worlds, my thoughts are now universes Written on these pages is the ageless wisdom of the sages, ignorance is contagious So I hope you keep your focus There's no hocus-pocus, in the end, it's just us Devil got brother killin brother, it's insane Goin out like Abel and Cain Wisen up and use your brain There'll be no limit, to the things that you can gain In positivity, balance it with negativity Until then, ain't the devil happy [Verse Two:] I hate when the devil's happy, so I wear my hair hair nappy Knotty, won't go out like John Gotti He came from the caves to destroy everybody And we like fools destroy our own bodies Too many niggaz chillin, bad boys boom boom This leaves no room for the flowers to bloom Seeds blow in the wind, another drug killing What, are we accomplishing? Nothing What's, the matter? Why everytime I look around another brain gets splattered? Some pockets get fatter but it don't matter The devil's the only one who really gets fatter Lead ruptures flesh, spleens are shattered Dreams are shattered, another Queen without a King What will out children become without proper guidance? Probably nothing, so ain't the devil happy [Verse Three:] Niggaz are in a state of nothingness Hopelessness, lifelessness If you're in range I hope you hear this And try to change this, cause it's disatrous Who gets the most loot, who gets bust? Dollar bill y'all, is the god we trust THe days blow by like dust Even Men of Steel rust We're out here acting ridiculous When, only we can save us Mentally enslave us, for little or nothing kill our neighbors Animalistic, caniballistic, behavior Look to the sky for your savior He won't save ya, he didn't save your forefathers Why bother, brothers? You must discover The power of self, know thyself, or find thyself Hating thyself, killing thyself While he collects the wealth that you sit back and murder for Ain't the devil happy report abuse

Verse Four: Cee-Lo
Yeah..
Each and every element that exists in this
universe is manifested from a thought first
Through the inner mind's eye of the unseen power in the sky
Gave birth to Mother Earth and all it's worth to you and I
His most loved invention, my conciousness is an extension of Him,
yet I'm flesh and bone with a mind of my own
To dig deeper than the surface, whether I learn
from your upcomings or your downfalls we all have individual purpose
It's amazing, how the streets do the majority of raising
of children who end up dead before hearing what You said
And it's sad, so all I can write about is what I had
Interpretations of life good and bad with a pen and pad
It seems like abortion, when I just write a small portion
It's either crumpled up or torn without lettin the thought be born
Young minded, and blinded in those days;
I didn't want to have a thought that I couldn't raise, nurture, and care for
Be there for, help prepare for, the times ahead
When someone doesn't agree with what is said, huh
And if they did, don't get all arrogant cause that's my kid
Just be thankful that it's good and somebody overstood
Now, the listener in here want the same flow but I gotta let it grow
Clever enough to let it go, if I don't wanna rap no mo'
And I'll make sure that no one ever forgets
It's immortalized forever, on wax CD's and casettes
And when someone goes to the store and purchases it for ten
The life cycle starts all over again
And I was granted this music as my soulmate, to procreate
and give back what I was given, a life worth livin
And I, am Still Standing, unscathed
Pain is for suckers to feel
MC's are running out of things to say, and
radio stations running out of songs to play, s**t!
We Still Standing, unscathed
And pain is for suckers to feel, huh
And MC's running out of things to say...
