The Prometheus Institute believes that while government expenditures require a high degree of transparency since they are funded by taxpayer dollars, voluntary contributions of citizens and organizations are private.
In order to respect the privacy of our supporters, The Prometheus Institute does not release the names of or information about individual donors to any individual or organization without the express agreement of the donor, except as required by law. Our supporters may make their contributions public of their own accord, but the Institute does not confirm or deny the participation of any individual or organization.
The Prometheus Institute occasionally shares its list of donors in confidential exchanges with similar organizations as part of traditional fundraising efforts and will exclude individual donors from this process upon request.
