barack libertarian

After the Jeremiah Wright scandal died down, Barack Obama decided to fly under the radar.  Virtually guaranteed of gaining the nomination, he refused Clinton’s debate offers and played it as safe as possible.  However, when you are running for the presidency, playing it safe is not always the best strategy.  Obama knew he could come in second in all of the named contests and still procure the nomination…so he did just that.  Rather than fight for the votes of the people of West Virginia, Indiana or Kentucky, Obama decided that he would save more face by losing these contests and then having the defense of “Well these were states Senator Clinton was supposed to win.  We didn’t really campaign there.”

He out spent Senator Clinton in all of these primaries, yet he still managed to squander the momentum that had built behind him since February.  The JFK of our generation is not a closer.  He has become complacent and scared to take risks.  Indeed, it is this same flaw that led to Hillary’s demise as well.  Senator Obama will have to hone his chops if he is going to defeat the Republican Party and John McCain this November.  He cannot sit back and play it safe…Senator McCain will jump on this weakness.  At this point, I am pretty ambivalent between Senators Obama and McCain.  But rehashed promises of change will not win over the independents and moderate Democrats and Republicans come November.  His message and character have already gotten a bit stale and if Obama does not prove to be dynamic and multi-faceted he may well join the elite group of Democratic losers such as Michael Dukakis, John Kerry, and Walter Mondale.

So if you are ambivalent toward the GOP and Democrat candidates, what are you doing writing an article that only serves to give them more market share of the blogosphere?

Are you exploring other options, or do you feel that voting for a sure "loser" is wasting your vote, so you are left trying to rationalize who will win, and that is who you can afford to support?

Bob Barr may not be your favorite personality left in the race, but he is certainly the only one left that has in his platform anything about reducing the scope of the Federal Government.

Past transgressions and all, he seems to be the only choice currently saying the right things to appeal to anyone who considers themselves any type of libertarian.

Or we can continue to keep Obama and McCain fixed in the spotlight, and perpetuate the two-party system that has worked so well at balancing opposing forces. Right now, Barr is doing more for Libertarians than you are.

written by Payday Loan Advocate, September 30, 2008
The payday loan industry has been the prime target for corrupt politicians, from all sides, seeking an increase in voter support at the expense of what’s best for their citizens. Governors of several states including, Georgia, North Carolina, and Oregon completely drove payday loan companies out of their states. The negative effects of driving out payday loan companies from these states, appears to have not been what was best for its’ citizens. For instance, in Georgia, the bankruptcy filings, bounced checks and foreclosures all skyrocketed after the cash advance product was done away with. In spite of these negative statistics, following the closure of payday loans in these states, several other governors continue to try and follow suit. Top national politicians, such as presidential hopeful Barack Obama, are now stepping into the arena in hopes of wiping the industry completely off the map. Should such efforts deem successful, the possibility is very real for increased unemployment rates, more debt, more foreclosures and an even more crippled economy.
